Holiday Recipe

It's been crazy the last few weeks in and around our offices here in Seattle. With the snow, ice and holiday checklists to complete we were pleased to find a new recipe that brings back the holiday spirit. It's an easy recipe that requires only a few items, most of which you probably already have around the house, but the result is undeniably festive.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Here are some quick breast cancer facts/tips from the American Cancer Society®:

1) "Excluding cancers of the skin, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, accounting for more than 1 in 4 cancers diagnosed in US women."

2) "White women have a higher incidence of breast cancer than African American women after age 40. In contrast, African American women have a higher incidence rate before age 40 and are more likely to die from breast cancer at every age."

3) "Between 2001-2004, incidence rates of invasive female breast cancer for all races decreased by 3.5% per year"

4) "The American Cancer Society believes the use of regular mammograms, MRI (in women at high risk), and clinical breast exams should be a part of every woman’s preventive health care."

5) "Breast physical exams without regular mammograms will miss many breast cancers that are too small for a woman or her doctor to feel but that can be seen on mammograms."
